No one will ever call me a technical wizard. I know a little but not a lot. I started with q-basic then Visual Basic. Microsoft changed Visual Basic so I got into VB.Net. Along the way I spent some time with Java. I have spent more time than I care to remember with HTML and a little Java script. I have had project management classes and system design and engineering classes. I really like project management and system design but right up there with them would have to be anything database like Oracle. I had to take Oracle the last semester of my undergrad and I got a “B” in the class. It was a bad time for me to take a class I really liked. I should have done better on the final exam. I should have looked at the finals schedule before picking my classes. As it turned out I had 5 final exams in less than 24 hours. It was no fun plus I had relatives coming in from out of town because the graduation ceremony as the morning after the finals.

Anyway getting back to tech as far as I m concerned project management, system design, and database go together. Project management would lay down the timeline and the tasks involved. System design would set up the layout for retrieving information from the database and the database must be set up.

The only problem I have with all of this is I keep forgetting to use my skills on my projects. There is a problem with keeping all your thoughts in your head. Sometimes things get moved to the side. It’s not that I forget things it’s just that I do not remember them when I need to. So just as I close down for the night I think “Oh yes I forgot….” And I tell myself I’ll do it the next day

I wish I could use database more often but I just do not have any data to play with. We do not collect any from the websites and how many address books can you make? I once found a website that had major league baseball stats for every player and every year. I used that to set up some queries like the top ten homerun hitters at short stop. It was a lot of fun.

For now I will continue to build websites. I love websites and I love webcams. In case you are wondering I use Net Objects Fusion do most of my sites. I have a very old version of home site that I use from time to time and I use Adobe image ready to crop images down. I think I want to learn Adobe flash but so far I have not been able to move it from my want to do list to my must do list.
